African Food: Traditional methi bhaaji


Traditional methi bhaaji Ingredients

1 Methi.
2 finely chopped onions.
3 finely chopped garlic.
4 finely grated ginger.
5 asafetida (hing).
6 diced potatoes.
7 mustard oil.
8 red chilli powder.
9 turmeric powder.
10 grated tomatoes.
11 cumin seeds.
12 finely chopped green chillies.
13 Salt according.

Cooking Guidances

Step 1 Wash and chop methi..
Step 2 Take a iron kadahi and pour mustard oil in it and heat it till burning hot to avoid it's raw taste..
Step 3 Now add asafetida in it. Then add cumin seeds, chopped garlic in it till it changes it's colour to golden brown..
Step 4 Now add green chilli to it..
Step 5 Now add ginger..
Step 6 Now add onion to it and saute it till golden brown. Now add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix well..
Step 7 Now add grated tomatoes and sakte for 2 mins..
Step 8 Add potatoes and methi to it and mix well. Cover it for 5 mins and again mix it and cover it for another 5 mins..
Step 9 Switch off the gas after 20 mins, you will see the oil is separated from vegetable. Bhaaji is ready to serve..
Step 10 Serve hot with makki ki roti..
