Afang Soup recipe at long last… Yay!!! Afang Soup is one of the most popular traditional Nigerian soups. It is very nutritious, medicinal and native to the Efik people of Nigeria. You can easily cook Afang soup in 7 ingredients and only 8 steps. Here is cooking guidance how you can easily make that.

Ingredients

1 Prepare of Okazi/afang leave.
2 Prepare of Water leave.
3 It’s of Palm oil.
4 Approximately of Beef or any other protein of your choice.
5 About of Pomo,dried fish,stock fish,pepper, onion.
6 Prepare of Crayfish, seasoning cubes, salt.
7 You need of Isam/periwinkle is optional.

Afang Soup is of Nigerian origin-a much-celebrated recipe from the efik ethnic group in the southern part of Nigeria -and often served at ceremonial occasions such as weddings. Afang soup; a delight to behold and to eat. It is a special delicacy of the Efik and ibibio tribes of Nigeria. Some parts of Cameroon bordering that part of Nigeria also enjoy this delicacy.

Cooking Instructions

Step 1 Wash,drain and slice water leave.
Step 2 Grind/pound the okazi.
Step 3 Boil the beef and Pomo with salt, seasoning cubes,diced Onion with a little quantity of water as water leaves contain water.
Step 4 When meat is done,add dry fish and cook for another 5minutes.
Step 5 Add Palm oil, crayfish and pepper and allow to boil.
Step 6 When the mixture starts boiling,add the okazi,water leaves and periwinkle.
Step 7 When the okazi leaves have softened and the water has dried up a bit,add salt to taste and allow to simmer for about 5minutes.
Step 8 Serve with pounded yam,fufu semo etc.
