South African milk tart Ingredients

3 tbsp melted butter. |

3 1/2 cup milk. |

2 cup crushed biscuits (Marie or other). |

2 eggs. |

1/2 cup sugar. |
6 |
2 tbsp flour (heaped). |
7 |
2 tbsp maizena or other corn flour(heaped). |

2 tbsp butter. |
9 |
1 powdered cinnamon. |
Cooking Instructions
Step 1 |
Mix crushed biscuits with the melted butter and press into a pie dish.. |
Step 2 |
Heat 3 cups milk with sugar and butter, setting aside the other 1/2 cup for later.. |
Step 3 |
Separate eggs, beat yolks and add to the milk.. |
Step 4 |
With the 1/2 cup milk which was set aside earlier, mix flour and maizena to a paste.. |
Step 5 |
Add to the mixture, always stirring.. |
Step 6 |
Remove from heat.. |
Step 7 |
Beat egg whites to a stiff peak, then fold into the milk mixture.. |
Step 8 |
Pour into crushed biscuit base, sprinkle with cinnamon.. |
Step 9 |
Allow to cool, and enjpy!. |
