South African milk tart Ingredients

1 3 tbsp melted butter.
2 3 1/2 cup milk.
3 2 cup crushed biscuits (Marie or other).
4 2 eggs.
5 1/2 cup sugar.
6 2 tbsp flour (heaped).
7 2 tbsp maizena or other corn flour(heaped).
8 2 tbsp butter.
9 1 powdered cinnamon.

Cooking Instructions

Step 1 Mix crushed biscuits with the melted butter and press into a pie dish..
Step 2 Heat 3 cups milk with sugar and butter, setting aside the other 1/2 cup for later..
Step 3 Separate eggs, beat yolks and add to the milk..
Step 4 With the 1/2 cup milk which was set aside earlier, mix flour and maizena to a paste..
Step 5 Add to the mixture, always stirring..
Step 6 Remove from heat..
Step 7 Beat egg whites to a stiff peak, then fold into the milk mixture..
Step 8 Pour into crushed biscuit base, sprinkle with cinnamon..
Step 9 Allow to cool, and enjpy!.
